Penn State got big news over the weekend when four-star offensive lineman Michal Menet picked the Nittany Lions over Duke with a live announcement from Exeter High School Friday afternoon. The athletic, versatile lineman is the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 37 player in the country, according to 247sports.com’s composite rankings.

Menet has gotten serious interest from a number of high-profile programs with recent offers from Alabama, Georgia, UCLA and Auburn. But the 6-5, 270-pounder narrowed his list to just two schools last month and made the call for Penn State, a school he has visited numerous times over the last year.

“I think it was always Penn State,” Bob Flounders said in a segment for the Keystone Sports Network this week. He joined Jim Galanti on the show from Menet’s announcement site to break down the significance of his verbal commitment.
