Penn State has a key decision to make at the kicker position in advance of its trip to Northwestern. Joey Julius gave way to Tyler Davis after struggling in the 39-0 win over Illinois, a change that could stick for Northwestern and likely beyond. Coach James Franklin hasn’t yet announced any change, only saying this week’s practice competition would determine who wins placekicking duties.

Franklin addressed his kickers, drew a comparison between Garrett Sickels and Carl Nassib and talked about the roles of Trace McSorley and Tommy Stevens in helping his defense prep for another mobile quarterback in Clayton Thorson. Meanwhile, Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald piled on praise for the Nittany Lions’ defensive line.

Bob Flounders, Ross Tucker and Dustin Hockensmith broke down those comments and more on this week’s Keystone Kickoff Show. Check out audio of the show in this post and be sure to check back in to KeystoneSportsNetwork.com for plenty more Penn State podcasts and analysis.
