Oregon and defending national champion Florida State clash in the Rose Bowl this New Year’s Day with a berth in the College Football Playoff championship on the line. The Ducks enter the Rose Bowl as a nine-point favorite behind quarterback Marcus Mariota, while the Seminoles survived a number of close calls in posting a perfect 13-0 record behind the strong arm of reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston.

The matchup between two of the nation’s quarterbacks has garnered big-time interest in this one, and a realistic scenario makes both Mariota and Winston top-five picks in the 2015 NFL draft. There’s can’t-miss talent on both sides of a matchup that has huge scoring potential. Vegas puts the over/under for total points at 71, nearly two touchdowns more than the other CFP semifinal between Alabama and Ohio State.

Andrew P. Shay joins the podcast live from Los Angeles in advance of the Rose Bowl and talks about the matchup and plenty more with Dustin Hockensmith, Bob Flounders and Scott Shirley.
