Penn State is one of the nation’s hottest programs on the recruiting trail with a run of four commitments in six days that pushed the 2016 class into the top 10 nationally in all four major recruiting services. Three of those four verbal commitments came from defensive tackles, which were timely additions at a big area of need beyond the 2015 season.

James Franklin has wasted no time building three recruiting classes with the Nittany Lions, the last of which should be hands-down the best of them all. The class stands at 14 commitments right now and has plenty of room for growth, particularly if the Nittany Lions can sway high-end prospects such as Oluwole Betiku or Rashan Gary to Happy Valley.

Steve Wiltfong, director of recruiting for 247 Sports, joined Bob Flounders and Dustin Hockensmith on the Keystone Sports Network this week to talk about Franklin’s hot streak, the top players in the class and more.
