Penn State has picked up a full head of steam on the recruiting trail with a class that ranks No. 6 nationally and is up to 15 verbal commitments. A run on defensive linemen has put the Nittany Lions back among the nation’s elite recruiting classes, highlighted by eight players ranked among the top 250 players in the country, according to 247 Sports.

The recruitment of defensive tackles has been a storyline worth watching since the NCAA hammered the program with sanctions in 2012. Two high-profile prospects — Thomas Holley and Adam McClean — decommitted and opted to go elsewhere in 2013 and ’14, respectively. Another, Christian Wilkins, committed to Clemson instead. By snatching up Michael Dwumfour, Christian Colon and Ellison Jordan, coach James Franklin has begun to ease concerns about the future of the position.

Bob Flounders, Andrew P. Shay and Dustin Hockensmith talked about the latest recruiting developments, Adam Breneman, Austin Johnson and more this week in a segment for the Keystone Kickoff Show.
