KSN Podcast: Talking Penn State football with Steve Jones

Penn State is going through a time of transition, from a scholarship-strapped program with a bleak future to an aspiring Big Ten contender making huge gains in building a talent base. James Franklin’s first two seasons have been far from smooth, and his approach still comes with question marks as the team works through the same offensive struggles again in 2015.

Where the Nittany Lions are, and where they’re going, are questions wide open for interpretation, weighed against big-time recruiting results but an inconsistent product on the field. There have been bright spots this season in Saquon Barkley, improved special teams play and a dynamic front seven, but there have also been lingering issues along the offensive line, in the staff’s playcalling and the usage of Christian Hackenberg.

Longtime Penn State Sports Network voice Steve Jones joined the Keystone Kickoff Show this week to talk about the program and where it’s headed going into the bulk of its Big Ten Conference schedule. Check out audio of the show in this post and be sure to check back in to KeystoneSportsNetwork.com for plenty more Penn State podcasts and analysis.
